SAHLA 2014 Languages Symposium
SAHLA is hosting its 2014 Languages Education Symposium on Saturday November 8, 2014, from 9 am – 3 pm at the Executive Royal Inn, 2828- 23 St. NE
The theme of this year’s Symposium is “Preparing students for global citizenship, career opportunities and life-long learning.”
Keynote speakers include:
- Ms. Joy Bowen-Eyre, Chair, Board of Trustees, Calgary Board of Education
- Mr. Jason Luan, MLA Calgary Hawkwood
- Honourable Gordon Dirks MLA, Minister of Alberta Education
Sessions to be presented include:
- Technology for Language Learning: How to make wise decisions that benefit students’ learning.

- Calgary Board of Education – Partnership with SAHLA for Community-Based International Languages and Classroom Facility rentals.

- University of Calgary Continuing Education: Teaching Second Languages (TSL) Professional Development Program.

- Success Indicators for Language Programs: Inspiring IL in Alberta with Ontario Perspectives
- In and Out of Your Chairs – Icebreakers, motivators and overall fun activities for language classrooms. Participation of everyone expected!
